Helpful Ryder
Tyler came in from doing something in the garage and noticed that the front door was ajar. It was quite nippy outside, so he assumed that the door hadn't been shut properly and the wind pushed it open. So he closed the door and locked it.
About ten seconds later we could hear the unmistakable beep-beep-beep of the electronic door lock buttons being pushed. Ty ran downstairs and opened the door and there was Ryder! He burst in the house, panting and shivering. No coat on, no shoes. How the heck...?
"I... couldn't... find... Pabby..." he gasped, teeth chattering from the cold. "I... couldn't... find.... Pabby." I'm sure he was out-of-breath not just from the cold, but from the panic after realizing he'd been locked outside! Haha.
So stupid Pablo must have escaped the house and only Ryder noticed; then he took it upon himself to go out there after him. Which is a noble concept but, uh, hello, its winter outside buddy. Then I had to have a little talk with him about never going outside alone, to always come get mom or dad or Gunnar. Hope that stuck in his head but I'm sure there will be similar adventures come spring and summer, when the beautiful weather beckons.

This is way too funny. At least he had sense enough to come to the front door and try to get back into the house, eh (he could have wandered to another house, continuing the search for the cat, and brought back by a neighbor which would have been horrifing) By the way, which grandbaby was it who was running down the road in front of your house wearing only a diaper? It could have been Ardan, I think, but time moves too quickly for this old gal. OMGosh, those KASHAs ..
That would have been Gunnar at about a year and a half old, he made it all the way down to the green space going towards Deanna's. Thank god faithful, protective Nado was there with him, herding him away from the road (like Sarah with Trapper). Meanwhile there I was, running frantically to them, dressed in nothing but a ratty pair of shorts and shirt -- painting clothes -- no bra. Classic.
